Outlander star Sam Heughan says season 7 is 'starting with great fanfare' after massive cliffhanger

Start strong. Outlander star Sam Heughan can't wait for fans to watch the thrilling Season 7 premiere the Scotsman told Us Weekly exclusively. Speaking with us on Wednesday, June 1st he said about his participation in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride in support of Movember the global men's health organization that raises awareness of prostate cancer testicular cancer men's mental health, and suicide prevention.

Season 6 of Outlander ended last month with Claire CaitrĂona Balfe arrested for murder and Jamie Heughan must find her as the Revolutionary War officially begins. The United States is really confused. There's a revolution and Jamie and Claire are fired the Men's Kilts star joked. There's also a prophecy that Jamie and Claire will die you know they're supposed to die in a fire. A lot is going on. Fortunately, there will be more episodes than usual to unpack all that drama. Between COVID 19 protocols and Balfs maternity leave, she and her husband Tony McGill welcomed a baby boy in August 2021 season six has been cut short to just eight episodes. The remaining four installments were added to Outlander Season 7 giving the Starz series a 16-episode season.

This is really a high-volume season Heughan explained. We really started with a bang. The first two episodes are really strong and that's all we're getting at as far as filming. But I know there's a lot we're still about to get into. You don't just have a lot of new characters or characters that I think fans are looking forward to including That is of course the son of Jamie Fraser but also a bunch of new characters. William Ransom has not been seen. Since he was a kid but season seven will introduce Jimmy's estranged son as a man played by actor Charles Vandervaert whos already having a blast alongside Hogan. Charles does a decent job. I must say he is a very handsome boy. Very handsome. I tried to fire him on his first day but no luck the Clanlands writer joked.

He knows that Charles will likely get the same support he gets from the Outlander fan base. Viewers support Heugan's many projects including his various charitable endeavors. When Heughan announced he would be participating in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride last month his fan base instantly rallied raising more than $56000 for Movember despite only learning about the actor's participation less than a week before the event. The Spy Who Dumped Me star got along with her loyal fans when she spoke to us on International Outlander Day which falls on June 1 every year to celebrate the first anniversary of Diana Gabaldon's novel in the landmark series. On International Outlander Day I want to thank all of our fans for their support Heughan told us exclusively. Honestly, it has been overwhelming and they continue to surprise us. And then I think this support for The Gentlemans Journey is just one example.

The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Dramas alum explained that he only had to post a simple tweet before donations started pouring in. Page and did not stop enthusiastically. So I would like to thank everyone who has supported this great cause. The sharing has been so much fun but also so important to the work Movember does. So thanks to them. He concluded For the fans please continue to enjoy the show you have a lot to do before we go back to the new season but Ducklander will be over. I promise you. Starz has not yet announced a season 7 premiere date.

ride for a reason

Heughan attended the 11th annual Gentleman Riding Gala a global event in 107 countries in London on Sunday, May 22 to raise money for the Movember men's health charity. Fans of the Outlander star have raised over $56000 and in total DGR has raised over $4 million.

Distinctive breach

You know I think that's a lot of fun, isn't it? When can you put on a suit and ride a motorcycle with hundreds of other people? The actor told us. And there were over 200 knights there and in different costumes, if you will. I wore a Stuart Christies suit made for me by the oldest tailor in Scotland. They dressed like these Jacobin warriors. They put me in this beautiful Scottish tweed.

Motorcycle Metaphors

Haugan found it refreshing to bike with others while raising awareness about Movember. She explained It was great to ride with other people. You know we don't usually do that and I think that's probably a metaphor for guys as well. We tend to get lonely or not really share our feelings with other people or spend a lot of time getting to know people. It brought a lot of men together and women and it was really good to share something in common. Caring and also bringing your voice to this great cause.

Lots of support

It was great because frankly, I wasn't expecting all the support we received explained founder Sassenach Spirits. It was a great idea to raise awareness and have a day. But... I've had a lot of messages from people giving me their support and [revealing] how mental health issues, as well as prostate and testicular cancer, have also affected their families.

golden boy

Heughan has raised millions for various charities through My Peak Challenge his fitness program and even received an honorary degree from the University of Glasgow in recognition of his artistic success and philanthropic work in 2019. It was hard to choose but I felt it was what he said about Movember. and DGR. We don't talk much about men's mental health and I think prostate cancer is easily treatable like testicular cancer if it's caught early. And I think its a taboo for men to talk about the problems they're having or even go to the doctor. For me, I thought I hope That this would raise awareness or at least make people think and maybe even put on a suit and ride a motorbike to help out.
