Legacies: 10 Filler Episodes That Are Still Great

In the parlance of television, filler episodes refer to those in which the overall story is completely hidden or abandoned in favor of episodic stories. In the case of The CWs episodic legacies and fantasy of which there are only two episodes left many of the memorable episodes to tend to be fillers allowing audiences to hang out and learn about the characters. Without worrying about the underlying conflict. Regarding Alaric the Super Squad the Necromancer and the entirety of Mikaelsons legends. From Christmas celebrations and random musicals to school dances killer Leprechauns and more Legacies prove that filler rings aren't always a bad thing.

We Are Punks Pedro Season 1 Episode 3

After the first two episodes of Legacies laid the foundation for what was to come the third week to fourteenth-century flashback sequence in France immediately hints at a filler episode but it still manages to provide legitimate chills. Essentially a one-off episode of Monster of the Week the plot includes a terrifying story that terrorizes Mystic Falls while Hope Lizzie Josie and MG are stuck with a boring community service project. While he introduces a minor character in Pedro who only appears in 10 episodes total what makes the episode so powerful is the way Hope finally begins to understand her innate powers by harnessing Pedro's magic to stop the gargoyles.

There is a world where your dreams come true Season 1 Episode 10

Almost every Legacies fan will agree that the infamous Lizzies Wishing Worlds episode is pretty special despite it being a great filler. The entire episode is about Lizzie returning to Mystic Falls and learning that someone has the power to make all her dreams and wishes come true including Hope who disappears forever. Set in the recesses of Lizzie's mind the episode is set to explore the character's integrity by delving into the depths of her subconscious mind and confronting her darkest fears and deepest desires marking a major turning point for Lizzie from being previously hated to becoming a truly understanding character.

Let's Finish the Dance Season 1 Episode 14

In the first season of the beloved CW show now available on Netflix the highly entertaining entry in Week 14 sees teens enjoying their teenage years at Miss Mystic Falls as the compelling drama unfolds far beyond the age-old struggle to unite supernatural beasts against humans. . As Hope secretly struggles with a recent traumatic event and Josies desire to win the contest undermines Lizzies own plans for the contest the supporting character Roman is introduced before leaving the show in the next episode. Although not advanced in the main plot seeing how much Landon was affected by the Romans' arrival provided a scathing look at his character who paid dividends along with the streak. Also, the show in colorful costumes was a lot of fun to watch even as it showed how competitive Hope Lizzie,, and Josie are.

Screw the end game season 2 episode 5

Definitely one of the most entertaining episodes of Filler Screw Endgame finds hope and the gang attending an 80s-themed Mystic Falls school dance as Hope and Lizzie find themselves trapped in an alternative labyrinth in the 80s. They are chased by a known monster. Like The Keeper another unique villain that has never been seen again. In addition to the incredible nostalgia of 80s music fashion and iconography the maze of time loops in which Hope and Lizzie find themselves is truly heartbreaking. What makes the release great is that even while avoiding danger in the labyrinth Hope and Lizzie manage to bond while Josie and Landon advance their tenuous romance making the characters even more connected.

This Christmas Was Surprisingly Violent Season 2 Episode 8

As most popular TV shows tend to do the Christmas episodes have abandoned the overarching plot to celebrate with blissful optimism. In Legacies one of these episodes takes place in the middle of season two in which the notorious Christmas monster Krampus makes a funny evil appearance. The episode features how the typical holiday cheer of a Christmas episode is completely destroyed. With the intent of the evil Krampus who uses a lot of goodwill and the spirit of Christmas to infiltrate Salvatore cover the city with snow and kill several locals like a Christmas horror movie from Hell.

Salvatore The Musical Season 3 Episode 3

Essentially a Glee episode Salvatore The Musical edition of the successful TV spinoff show is probably the most iconic piece of filler in Legacies history. With nothing to do with the eternal battle between vampires werewolves witches and humans the rousing musical plays as one large ode to the origin of the Salvatore School. With dazzling song and dance numbers sure to imprint a lasting grin on anyone's face Landon writes the musical while Jed Josie Kaleb and Lizzie enthusiastically delve into their acting roles. Meanwhile, Hope wants nothing to do with the event further distancing herself from the group.

Yup It's A Leprechaun All Right Season 3 Episode 7

In one of the most random ridiculous yet unforgettably playful episodes Lizzie arranges a fundraiser to help out the financially strapped Salvatore School. Much of the plot details the logistics of the fundraiser Alaric's visit to the bank and MG supervises the school in his absence. However, the final few minutes go completely bonkers when a Leprechaun shows up and attacks Alaric. While much of the episode explores the mythology of leprechauns and the nature of luck it's how Hope and Cleo continue to work out their relationship while defeating the Leprechaun that makes them so easy to root for in the episode with Hopes crushing devotion to Landon never wavering.

This Feels A Little Cult Y Season 3 Episode 14

Much like season 1 the antepenultimate chapter in season 3 was quite entertaining despite feeling somewhat unrelated to the larger storyline. As a way to tamp down Hopes' negative feelings, she and Josie join Lizzie at a wellness retreat for witches. More of a bonding episode that emphasizes the sisterly dynamic between the awesome trio of Lizzie Josie and Hope the humor of all three really shines through during their time at the retreat. When Hope and Josie fall under the spell Andi Lizzie is left to save the two before it's too late. After defeating the witches at the retreat Hope Lizzie and Josie prove what a powerful unit they are. Despite feeling like filler the dynamic chemistry between the three leads is off the charts making them very easy to get behind and celebrate as the best squad on the show.

The Story Of My Life Season 4 Episode 10

Considering how season 4 of the highly acclaimed CW series jumped from 16 to 20 episodes it's no surprise to find it has a fair share of filler. Starting with episode 10 much of the drama concerns new student Ben a minor character who happens to be a monster magnet at Salvatore. Cleo Jed and MG decide how to get rid of Ben before it's too late. While there is a small subplot regarding Alaric and Landon being stuck in limbo with The Necromancer that speaks to the larger plot the episode is really about the confidence Jed must find as an alpha to make the key decision regarding Bens fate. Cleo and MGs votes differ leaving Jed to cast the deciding way of ridding Ben who ultimately vanishes after 8 episodes. It's a great piece of character building that goes a long way in understanding the moral quandaries that even werewolves face on the show showing they aren't much different than humans after all.

Follow The Sound Of My Voice Season 4 Episode 11

One week later another freakish and frightening filler episode comes when Hope and Lizzie attend a creepy carnival in Mystic Falls. Haunted tunnels Carnival Barkers and the malefic Magnus the Magnificent begin terrifying the girls before they learn the place is a secret haven for vampires. Aside from the immersive and bizarre carnival atmosphere what makes the episode so special is how Hope begins to find a real reason to switch her humanity back uncertain if she can live up to the responsibility of a tribrid. Hopefully, the final two episodes of the series reconcile Hope's tormented decision regarding her true fate and lasting legacy.
