Brad Pitt says Angelina Jolie 'sought to inflict harm' with vineyard sale
New legal documents claim that Angelina Jolie tried to harm ex-husband Brad Pitt when she sold her share of his vineyard to a Russian businessman. Pitt sues his ex-wife for selling her stake in the French man. Vineyard bought it together in 2008. He said his decision to sell his stake to the Russian oligarch forced him to associate with a stranger with toxic relationships and intentions. Jolie has not commented publicly yet. The couple bought a majority stake in Chateau Miraval SA a French company that includes a home and vineyard in southern France in 2008. The first list couple married there six years later. Pete says he and his ex-wife agreed not to immediately sell their property without the other's permission. In legal documents obtained by the Palestinian Authority News Agency Jolie allegedly sold her stake to a Luxembourg liquor manufacturing company run by Russian oligarch Yuri Scheffler without Pete's knowledge.
He didn't contribute anything
The lawsuit alleges that the sale helped launch a hostile takeover of the wine business that the actor carefully built. Petes's lawyers said that under his stewardship the business became a multi-million dollar international success story although Jolie contributed nothing. According to documents filed last week through the alleged sale Jolie sought to harm Pitt. Julie knew and went to Scheffler and his subsidiaries to try to take control of the business that Pete had built and to undermine Pete's investment in Maraval. He added that Schaeffler gained notoriety through harsh work methods and shady professional associations and that being associated with him endangers the reputation of the carefully built Pete brand.
It's all a direct result of Jolies quirky and curvy demeanor. In violation of the agreement of the parties, Jolie attempted to force Pitt to associate with a stranger and worse a stranger with toxic associations and intentions. The Miraval estate is located in the town of Correns in southeastern France. The pair bought it for around €25m £21.3m. Pitt is said to have contributed 60% of the purchase price and Jolie paid the remaining 40%. The lawyers also said the estate's wine business continues to thrive and while she has benefited from the success of Maraval Jolie has not been involved in these efforts. The actress filed for divorce in 2016. She reportedly informed Jolie Pitt of her decision to sell Scheffler in January 2021 saying that she made a painful decision with a sad heart. Petes's attorneys requested a jury trial. Jolie's representatives have not yet responded to the BBC's request for comment.
