Outlander's Sam Heughan admits he is 'slightly jealous' of potential spin-off to hit show


Starzs hit romance series Outlander centers on the time traveling love story between Claire Fraser played by Caitriona Balfe and Jimmy Fraser Sam Heughan in the 18th century. Speaking of an accidental possibility actor Sam recently admitted his feelings of jealousy. Fans first met Jimmy Fraser in season one when Claire mysteriously travels back in time from 1945 to her exact location in 1743. This is where she meets the Scottish Highlander. Jamie who later became her husband despite the fact that she was already married in the future. Although they married to protect Claire from Black Jack they ended up falling in love.

Even after Claire went back to the future for 20 years she decided to come back for Jamie and decided to stay with him permanently. Throughout the series the pair remained inseparable as they clashed with historical wars and ideals. The sixth season of the show has just arrived. It came to an end earlier this month and while the series showed no signs of slowing down rumors of a possible spin off were ignited. According to sources cited by Variety Starz was reportedly working on a prequel. The publication added that show director and executive producer Matthew B. Roberts has been set to executive produce and write for the project if it becomes a complete series.

During an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast Sam was asked about the spin off and confirmed the rumors. He said I knew it was in the wings I knew it was happening. I didnt realize it was so far away. I saw Diana [Gabaldon] this weekend and she was writing furiously. Outlander is the screen adaptation of a series of bestselling novels written by Diana Gabaldon who has written eight books. The actor then joked that he wanted nothing more than to appear however given Because its expected to be a pre show that might be unlikely.Sam added I know theyre really excited and Im excited about them and Im jealous too.

I wonder if I can get in there. Another reason why Jimmy Frasers appearance may be impossible is that it is said to follow the lives of her parents Brian and Elaine Fraser. Fans had yet to see her mother as Elaine was already dead by the time Outlander was. It started while Brian died the previous season. Diana had previously confirmed the offer during her interview with Town & Country magazine revealing that she had a story in her head for a long time. The author added I know quite a bit about it and Im just starting to get serious you might say. So I have actual scenes stuff like that. Fans can expect to see Sam reprise her role as Jimmy in the upcoming seventh season of the show which is currently in production.
