NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14, The Hetty/Syria Story Presented by Showrunner


NCIS Executive Producer and Exhibit on Los Angeles R. Scott Gemmell raises what is happening with Hetty in Syria and how she will return in the fourteenth season. NCIS LA for another season. Starring LL Cool J as Sam Hanna and Chris ODonnell as G. Callen the show follows the Los Angeles unit of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service called the Office of Special Projects OSP. Hetty Lang Linda Hunt is the Director of Operations at OSP. Hetty is a fan favorite and Hunt's performance has earned her two Teen Choice Awards.

In 2018 Hunt was involved in a serious car accident taking a year off filming in NCIS LA. Soon the COVID 19 pandemic hit and actress 77 walked away from the show in order to stay safe and healthy. The book explained Hunt's absence from NCIS LA by having Hetty go on various overseas assignments. It is not unusual for characters on a show to come and go as NCIS LA often features star-crossed and rearranged cast members. Season 13 is over and viewers are still wondering about the state of Hetty's mission in Syria. There have been fan theories all season long that her character died that she was captured or that she somehow started a drone strike. Hunt is now back on the show and viewers will finally get some answers.

Gemmill talks to TVInsider about Hetty's mission in Syria and the general state of her character. Without giving away too much Gemmill shares that in Season 14 the OSP members will have to find out where Hetty is and what she's been doing in Syria in order to help her get out of harm's way. Gemmell comments that once Hetty meets Calin they will have a conversation addressing the conflict between them which was cut short when Hetty suddenly left for Syria. Part of next season our guys will find out where she is and what happened and maybe they'll have to go in and take her out of the fire Gemmill went on. His statement confirms not only that Hetty is still alive but that she will return as an active character in NCIS LA. Although Gemmill has provided details about where the show is headed viewers won't know exactly how things will go until season 14 breaths of air. It will be interesting to see exactly how Hetty's return from Syria plays out as well as her reunion with Kalin. Regardless Hetty is such a fan favorite that no matter how things turn out for her characters return viewers are sure to be excited to get her back. The upcoming season of NCIS LA may be the last. However, there have also been similar speculation in recent years mainly due to the age of the show. Even if the next season turns out to be NCIS Los Angeles Finale its nice to know that viewers will be able to enjoy more time with Hetty before the show ends.

In Mayas M. Season 4 Episode 9 The Call of Saint Matthew Romero Chi Taza leaves the message of the Holy Father. During the Call of Saint Matthew Marcos Alvarez received an offer from Soledad and Miguel Galindo regarding the future of the new Lobos New Generation Cartel. Their plans required the Mayans to transport a lot of medicine to help them raise the capital the cartel would need. Later at the temple, Alvarez mentioned the show and announced his intention to keep the Maya off drugs. He also wants to end the Mayan war with the Sons of Anarchy angering the other members. Before Alvarez could close the topic Taza interrupted him to say he no longer saw Santo Padre as his home. As such he asks to be allowed to go to Nomad essentially making him a member of the club in general but not a specific charter.
