Emma Watson reveals that she is actually The Black Sheep

For many child stars, having family members involved in the entertainment industry is par for the course. However, this was not the case for Emma Watson. Rather than being artists writers or directors, Watson's parents were lawyers. The Harry Potter alum admits that movies weren't really a thing for her mom and dad. Even after she landed the coveted role of Hermione Granger her parents weren't quite on the pulse of events in Hollywood.

Emma Watson's parents weren't interested in movies or Hollywood

Although Watson developed a love of acting at a young age she was not immediately convinced to be an actress. Thanks to the famous Harry Potter books I and millions of others fell in love with Hummy. It was this admiration and affinity for the character that made Watson sure she was destined to play the role. But even after filming some Harry Potter movies, she wasn't sure if acting as a career or not. In an interview with GQ UK Watson explained that her parents weren't interested in movies. We probably had four strips in our entire house Watson revealed. My dad doesn't watch movies and they probably took me to the cinema twice on a school trip. I've always loved acting in school plays but that wasn't an ambition I was really thinking about.

But what are the four films that Watson was able to access? When Watson was promoting Beauty and the Beast on Jimmy Kimmel Live he shared the movies. Apparently, her parents kept Soldier Benjamin the beautiful woman four weddings and a funeral and my friend's wedding in turn. As Watson grew older and gained more confidence in her career she began devouring more films. She admitted that this made her completely different from her family. I don't belong to a family that watches movies she said. I am the black sheep of the situation. Moving on Watson revealed that although she was famous for most of her life her parents still work in the entertainment industry. The Bling Ring actress admitted that her mom didn't even know who Tom Cruise was. You have to understand my parents don't really understand celebrities or Hollywood or anything else Watson explained.

Despite being the Black Sheep Watson's parents showed their support for their daughter and her career. She's are definitely grateful that she was allowed to audition for Hermione all those years ago. It's also a good thing because Watson concedes that he would have hated her if his mom and dad had stopped him from pursuing his dreams. I would never have forgiven my parents if they made me turn down this opportunity Watson shared with Marie Claire about getting the role of Hermione Granger. I loved acting. It made me feel alive. It's scary but that's part of it. I think it's important to have that extra adrenaline rush. It gives you that extra touch.
